Her main interest in history extends from her adoration of material culture, finding that historical contexts can be easily put into perspective through their enduring physical heritage. Isabella is currently working on an Honours thesis at UQ on violence and discrimination between Muslims and Jews in medieval al-Andalus. She completed a Bachelor of Arts with an extended major in History in 2023. Her research interests include sociopolitical histories of warfare; gender and race relations during wartime; and trauma, memory, and war commemoration. She is hoping to begin her PhD at the end of 2025 and research the experiences of South Vietnamese veterans who have immigrated to Australia.
